Karen Hansen is a staff writer at Freedom Forum. She works with the organization’s programming teams to draft program- and event-related communications and with Freedom Forum’s First Amendment experts to write articles and educational materials about First Amendment issues. Prior to joining Freedom Forum, she served as communications director for the Radio Television Digital News Association, a broadcast journalism ethics and advocacy nonprofit. She studied political science and international relations at the University of St. Thomas and religion and politics at American University.
