Digital Outreach and Publicity Manager

Summary of Primary Functions

Reporting to the Director, Digital, the Digital Outreach and Publicity Manager will be responsible for outreaching, distributing and disseminating Freedom Forum created content to digital outlets, associations, organizations, influencers and newsletters. The person in this position will also help to develop relationships and strategy to grow the freedomforum.org audience digitally.

Essential Job Duties including, but not limited to:

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, Public Relations in maximizing the coverage for Freedom Forum content via digital channels
  • Develop strategy to distribute and promote Freedom Forum content to drive incremental traffic to freedomforum.org
  • Identify organizations and alliances to pursue for the distribution of content and potential speaking opportunities for experts, in partnership with Outreach team
  • Secure links to Freedom Forum content from websites, newsletters, social media, etc.
  • Build relationships with editorial contacts for distribution of bespoke columns, articles and various types of content
  • Create an influencer outreach strategy to drive shares and reposts of Freedom Forum social media posts
  • Identify podcasts and other outlets for potential exposure of Freedom Forum content
  • Manage internal lists of various constituents for outreach and message dissemination
  • Identify creative ways to break through the clutter and build awareness and interest in the Freedom Forum’s mission
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly analyze digital PR, influencer and social programs to ensure progress and pivot as needed. Create social and influencer analytics reports with actionable insights, content suggestions, SOV monitoring, engagement trends, sentiment monitoring etc.
  • Work closely with digital and marketing team for the amplification of Freedom Forum’s message via trusted sources
  • Promote editorial calendar and content initiatives to staff
  • Assist with newsletter creation and distribution

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the PR, Social and / or Influencer Marketing & Communications field.
  • Experienced in influencer marketing and the influencer landscape – primarily with content creators that have similar missions and perspectives to the Freedom Forum
  • Strong understanding of social media, knowledge about new platforms and a true passion for the space
  • Proficient with social media listening and media monitoring tools such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, Cision, etc.
  • Comfortable with social media stats, new products and innovative activations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Effective communication skills for conducting outreach and pitches to drive promotion of Freedom Forum content.
  • Strong project management, time management and attention to detail to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team, bringing ideas and solutions to issues raised. Role will require flexing from strategic to tactical implementation as needed.
  • Proven track record of creating meaningful online community engagement, conducting thoughtful outreach and generating + executing branded digital partnerships.
  • Most importantly, a true passion for the Freedom Forum’s mission

Salary: $77,000 to $79,000

Location:May be remote with occasional travel required. If DC-based, up to 10% onsite.
