#WithoutNews
On Monday, May 4, 2020, no newspapers will be displayed in the Today’s Front Pages online exhibit at freedomforum.org. In their place will be blacked-out pages featuring the hashtag #WithoutNews. The newspaper blackout marks the Freedom Forum’s sixth annual #WithoutNews campaign, meant to raise awareness of the threats to journalists around the world.
On the same day, the Freedom Forum adds the names of 11 journalists who were killed in pursuit of the truth in 2019 to the online Journalists Memorial. With the addition of those names, the Journalists Memorial will hold the names and stories of 2,355 journalists who died while reporting news and information from 1837 through 2019.
