May 12, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDTFree
The Religious Freedom Center of the Freedom Forum Institute invites you to attend our special May webinar, Lessons Learned from A Semester Disrupted: Best Practices for Teaching and Public Scholarship. We will discuss approaches to teaching religion remotely with fair grading options, conducting phone and videoconference classes in low resource and low tech environments, and responding to disruptions to tenure processes. We are pleased to host co-presenters: Michael Kessler, managing director of the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs; Patricia O’Connell Killen, professor of religion emerita at Pacific Lutheran University; and Jessica Tinklenberg, program director of the Claremont Colleges Center for Teaching and Learning. The webinar will include a presentation and extended Q&A.
This webinar is co-hosted by the Religious Freedom Center of the Freedom Forum and the American Academy of Religion (AAR), including the AAR’s Committee on the Public Understanding of Religion, the Teaching and Learning Committee, and the Teaching Religion Unit.
