Returning to Campus: Challenges and Opportunities Facing Religious Studies Scholars

We will discuss tools and resources for religious studies scholars who are committed to addressing anti-Black racism in teaching and public scholarship and creating significant online learning experiences. We will also discuss how to respond to disruptions to academic labor during the pandemic, including the challenge of disrupted tenure processes. We are pleased to host co-presenters: John Camardella, education fellow at the Religious Literacy Project at Harvard Divinity School; David McConeghy, co-editor and co-host of the Religious Studies Project; and Yolanda Pierce, professor and dean of the Howard University School of Divinity. The webinar will include a presentation and extended Q&A.

This webinar is hosted by the Public Scholars Project, a joint initiative of the Public Understanding of Religion Committee of the American Academy of Religion and the Religious Freedom Center of the Freedom Forum.
