Outrage and the Brain
June 3, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
Free
Educators are often hesitant to bring controversial issues into the classroom because they do not feel equipped to deal with the “heat.” Heated moments, though, can be students’ most important ah-ha moments. You can help students understand what is happening in their brains when they feel their deepest beliefs are being challenged.
Join us to learn how our brains go into self-defense mode when we feel threatened. You will leave with practical ideas to help students plan for and navigate conflict.
