De-escalate the Discourse: Promoting Justice and Equity through Dialogue
May 18, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDTFree
Educators need effective tools to help students understand recent events and explore key concepts around racial justice and equity today. But many Americans feel increasing political divisiveness and fearmongering has made it hard to discuss views on current events in public.
Improving the way we communicate our differences and explore solutions is one critical way to de-escalate the tension and anger that has plagued public life for too long. Dialogue can be a key tool for more effectively communicating our views and respectfully hearing others’ perspectives.
Join us to learn about the role of dialogue and its transformative power in the classroom and how the First Amendment provides a framework for living with our deepest differences.
