Freedom Forum Announces New Board Members and Council of Advisors

Thought leaders in technology and the future of newsroom culture have joined the board of trustees of the Freedom Forum, Chair and Chief Executive Officer Jan Neuharth announced today.

Neuharth also announced the creation of the Freedom Forum Council of Advisors, which will help guide future strategy and innovation at the Freedom Forum. The mission of the Freedom Forum is to foster First Amendment freedoms for all.

The new Freedom Forum board members are:

R. David Edelman, director of the Project on Technology, the Economy, & National Security at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and former special assistant to President Barack Obama on issues of technology and security. Edelman also serves on the board of the Freedom Forum Institute.

Jones is also a member of the advisory board of the Freedom Forum’s Power Shift Project, which works to achieve workplaces free of harassment and full of opportunity for all, particularly for those who have historically been denied it.

“R. David and Brent have already shown their innovation-sparking leadership in their contributions to the Freedom Forum Institute,” Neuharth says. “R. David has pushed our thinking in exciting directions about reaching new audiences through technology, and Brent has helped shape the groundbreaking work of the Power Shift Project to improve the culture of newsrooms across the country.
