A 39-year-old Nashville woman was shot in the face Friday morning outside a local biker bar after reportedly arguing with another woman who claims she shot the victim in self-defense.
Metro Police said Bonnie Lou Williams was shot in the parking lot of The Biker Bar, 604 East Old Hickory Blvd., and was taken to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She died over the weekend, officials said.
Angel Ann Johnson, 18, of Nashville was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a handgun in the shooting.
Metro Police spokesperson Don Aaron said Johnson was with four other people when their car ran out of gas outside the bar at approximately 1 a.m. Johnson and some of the other occupants went into the bar for help when an argument broke out between her and Williams.
Aaron said Johnson pulled the gun from her purse and shot Williams, claiming that she shot in self-defense after the victim pushed her. Johnson ran from the scene but was arrested while walking back towards the bar. Police later found the weapon in a nearby field.
Johnson is being held on $101,000 bond.
