Shelby Coffey named Freedom Forum fellow

ARLINGTON, Va. — Charles
L. Overby, chairman and chief executive officer of The Freedom Forum, today
announced that Shelby Coffey, former news chief at CNNfn, will become a fellow
of the Freedom Forum. As a fellow, Coffey will study and write about media and
First Amendment issues.
"Shelby brings a virtually unparalleled background of leadership
in print, broadcast and new media to this role," said Overby.
Coffey was executive vice president at ABC News in New York City
before he joined CNN in 1999. Prior to that, he served as editor of
the Los Angeles Times.
Earlier he held editorial positions with the Dallas
Times Herald, U.S. News & World
Report, and The Washington
Post.
